The Emerald Armada are lead singer Neil Allen, bassist Gary Lynas, guitarist Benjamin Hamilton, Dermot Moynagh on bodhran and lead guitarist Tony McHugh. With a wealth of highly energetic home grown songs they have foot stomped, knees up’d and even the odd crowded surfed around the UK & Ireland. 2013 saw The Emerald Armada support acts such as Newton Faulkner, Frightened Rabbit, Villagers, Admiral Fallow, Hayseed Dixie and other top class acts. Songs such as “Everyone” featured on Channel 4s hit TV Series “London Irish” and numerous festival slots have helped the Armada share their unique brand of alt/irish folk music with the world.
These guys are incredible – they played Altitude 2015 and went down a storm. When the opportunity came to invite them back again it was the easiest decision to say yes. They alone are worth buying a ticket for – they have an energy, stage presence and an armful of tunes that will stay with you long after this year’s festival. If Altitude was a band then The Emerald Armada would be it…
